We love hearing our clients talk about Evolution. It's personal stories that explain the "why" of what we do. We build healthy, warm houses so people can live well.
Giulio and Ruth had been living in frosty Fernhill when they were contemplating building a home in Queenstown. They were also creating a family and realized that their number one concern was making sure their next home was warm and dry for their young son, Franco.
Being an engineer, Giulio appreciated the technical aspects of the Evolution method, having been introduced by a friend who'd previously built an Evolution, which is the first Homestar™ rated house in Central Otago.
Giulo says, "Graham's home was always 20° when we walked in; comfortably warm throughout the entire place. We were blown away at how warm it was and how little power it used. We knew that's what we wanted too."
Q: What type of heating do you have?
We have Aero thermal underfloor plus a heat pump when we don't have the underfloor on. The house is never below 20° in winter.
Q: How does it feel in summer?
It's great; very comfortable.
Q: What do you like most about your home?
We love the energy-efficiency and warmth...no drafts! The layout is great, too.
Q: Would you be willing to tell us what your power bills were for Winter 2016?
Absolutely! We pay smooth pay so we pay the same every month...this winter with three adults and two kids in the house, it was $65/month!
